The Clearbridge solution is composed of two primary components: a Prospero Commerce Appliance located at the customer site, and a Clearbridge network service, the DxN.

The Prospero Commerce Appliance provided by Clearbridge as part of its solution offering performs various functions such as:

Secure VPN communications
Document caching and transaction roll-back
Auto back-up and rebuild capability
Transaction status monitoring

The Clearbridge DxN service performs functions such as:

Secure VPN communications
In-network translation
Document storage
Transaction status monitoring

Java and XML serve as the primary underlying technologies used to build and operate the Clearbridge network and applications.

Java Transaction Management Platform:

The Clearbridge network carries your transactions through a 100% Java transaction management platform. To ensure not a single transaction is lost, Clearbridge transaction processing engine caches every single transaction along with delivery status even when the nework is down. The Java transaction management platform also provides for a high level of scalability. The benefit to customers is the assurance that Clearbridge has the technology in place to easily handle an ever increasing system load while providing a consitantly high level of system performance.

Java Translation Engine:

Clearbridge performs document translation using its own Java translation engine based on the XSLT language. XSLT converts messages in and out of XML (to EDI), and between XML formats. Because Clearbridge manages this highly scalable software and provides all of the server hardware necessary to operate it our customers can produce or consume any data format without installing or managing additional software.

XML Document Management:

All documents passing through the Clearbridge network are handled using XML file structures. The use of XML technologies benefits our customers through Clearbridge's ability to offer increased document reporting capabilities and value-added applications such as the Prospero application suite.
